I'm back

Work has been pretty busy for me lately as the new year has started and I'm trying to be on top of the 2006 files as they come in and its working out ok. The 2005 files I am in the process of entering into the computer on an excel doc in case customs ever comes and audits and we need to find a file ASAP...for our files that would never happen as there is no program at work for it...do these guys not know how customs works...oh yeh..thats why I'm there. So this is the process of what happens.

Every import into canada is put into customs with an entry number (with brokers is the transaction and all files have a different trans number (except for LVS - which 100 files can have the same one). This trans number is the most important number ever. If customs audit's they send us a list of these transaction numbers and we are to find the files and all other info (vendor, po, sales slip, accounting docs (receivables and payables), import docs (invoices, cargo control docs)...all docs from the time its ordered to the time we sell it) with this particular number. The huge trouble now is that there is absolutely no way in the world that we can do that now. So what I have started doing in 2006 is to set up a doc that has the Transaction number, PO#, cargo control#, Vendor,Branch so that when I put in the trans# to search then at least I know where to start looking for everything. So I'm doing that with all files that are coming in new and also the ones in 2005, I am currently on the B's. I have also been bringing some files home to go through each entry for each vendor to see which HS classifications that the brokers are using to classify the goods. Some problems I have been seeing is that UPS (don't get me started on these guys) and Livingston have been clearing the same product but under different codes....also using NAFTA when we don't have one...whats up with that. For example: UPS cleared a shipment for us and cleared it under TTF10 (meaning we have nafta) and I didn't have one so I asked UPS to send me the copy they have for 2006 and they said they didn't have one that we had it lastyear so they assumed that we could get one this year..I told her to send me the one we had lastyear as I didn't have that as well.....then a few days later she sends me the one that they have been usng and low and behold it is a NAFTA but for the year 2003!!!
Can they not read that it says 2003 and not 2006? We cannot use a nafta in 2006 unless it says 2006!!!! So needless to say this import is one of the many that I have to fix with customs. Oh UPS will fix it...but for a fee of $50...WHAT???? You make the mistake and charge us to fix it? Go UPS.

So I'm still playing squash mostly on Friday evenings from 5-7. Jo bought a racket and me and her went this afternoon from 3-5. My legs are very sore today.

I think I'm gonna quit Curves. WHAT??? Yeh I have been thinking about it for a bit but now I think I'm really gonna. Its just that I've been doing the same routine for the last 2 1/2 years and I don't see any changes anymore...plus a few of the new employees arn't as plesent should I say as past employees.

I went in to check out Good Life Fitness this morning and I liked what I saw. I went in expecting a big sign up fee but that was not the case but it will be an extra $20 a month. Also I got a book today from there (they give it free with going in and looking around) and I might get a personal trainer for some sessions and this cost is extra but it might be good (also you get free stuff if you get one of those as well..free gym bag, heart rate watch, jacket, dri-fit tshirt, and a goodlife fitness gift certificate I think)...its all about the FREE stuff. (or $5 stuff).

So they have the cardio machines and the weights and classes and tanning beds and a sauna and all that stuff and its still pretty close to home and work as its in the Superstore. So we'll see how that works out.

I do still think Curves is a good spot to start out and if you are seeing results then keep sticking with that program as it definately working for you.

The Club is still going strong. I am quite surpsrised as I thought that after Jan then it would die down but I'm still gettiing new members each month. There are 2 new ones joining this month (march) which I'm excited about. They are the 2 newer employees and also there is one starting on Monday so maybe I can rope her in as well.
But there are two members that I am having trouble with that I can't seem to get the money from them. I've been putting my own in for them to keep the correct amount in the jar each week and I have yet to see it from them. Hey if you don't wanna pay then quit the club (but I need the money you owe first or I will send collections after you - No joke

We got our profit sharing on Thursday and it was a great day.

I thought when I ordered a subscription to a magaine (Shape) that it means that I would get it before it comes out on the shelves or at least the same time....NOT TRUE. Shape has been out for a few weeks for March and I have not seen mine yet and March is almost here.

March is almost here...time for some more snow storms and then its spring. Which means golf, which means summer, which means tanning, which means fall, which means winter, which means Christmas, which means Janurary, February which means TRIP!!!!
